For decades, the leisure yacht industry in Greece has relied on complex regulatory processes to ensure that vessels under foreign flag operating in Greek waters comply with legal and safety standards. In the digital era, these processes are being transformed through innovative technologies, and the e-Charter Permission platform that Cytech developed is at the forefront of this revolution. Designed and developed under a project contract from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy of Greece, the platform modernizes the way leisure yacht charter permits are issued, providing an efficient, transparent, and user-friendly solution while significantly reducing bureaucracy and streamlining technical procedures
In December 2024, Cytech completed, on behalf of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the project of developing and supporting for 1 year an information system to support the Department of Certificates of Maritime Competence of the Directorate of Marine Education (DE-KN).
The final conference of the "Career Intelligence" project, held on October 14-15, 2024, at the Science and Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C), highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in vocational education and training. On the 29th of December 2023, the electronic platform / application was put into production and made available for use with which the "Permit to charter a commercial recreational vessel, recognized under the law of another country, for a certain amount of time" will be issued electronically. The application concerns professional recreational vessels, under a foreign flag over 35 meters long, which are granted the right to operate in Greece.
